What is HUMSS?
HUMSS stands for Humanities and Social Sciences. It is one of the strands offered to Senior High students. This strand is for learners who aim to take up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social science-related courses in college.

What are the benefits of taking the strand Humss?
Taking HUMSS will enhance your communication skills which is needed in all areas of your life, this is one of the determinants of a person success. It will strengthen your logical reasoning and critical thinking which are needed skills once you are directed towards the development of skills needed for college and for the real world. It will let you learn about ideas and beliefs that have guided human beings and shaped civilizations for thousands of years, and you will be able to deal with different kinds of people in the 21st century that is one of the in demand skills in the world.

Is it fun to be a HUMANISTA?
Yes its fun to be a HUMSS student because in HUMSS there is freedom. In this, you’re able to express your opinions and show what you really feel. In HUMSS you will experience being able to build something that you never had like building your confidence, building critical thinking, and building your skills. HUMSS develop your understanding and your understanding deepens especially in any applicable things. HUMSS is fun because it is interesting and all subjects are thrilling to learn particularly in creative writing, debate, and etc. HUMSS is also reflecting because you can imagine things are possible for you to achieve.They’re many aspiring students to assist you to develop your imagination through literature. Humanities and social sciences broaden your capacity in professional fields.

The HUMSS strand is designed for those who wonder what is on the other side of the wall. In other words, you are ready to take on the world and talk to a lot of people. This is for those who are considering taking up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social science-related courses in college.Choose HUMSS because this track will help you to enhance not only your ability to talk in front of many people, but also it helps to boost your self-confidence and your ability to connect and communicate with society.I greatly encourage you to take this strand if you are looking forward to becoming a teacher, a psychologist, a lawyer, a writer, a social worker, or a reporter someday. This strand also focuses on improving your communication skills. Oh! And priesthood is a choice in here too!

I, as a HUMSS student, I will recommend to you to choose this strand. Because this will bring you to be the future servant of our country, Philippines. Humanities and Social Science is the strand that open your eyes regarding what is happening in our society and will teach you how to survive in this world. It is not about what you choose, it’s about your willingness and dedication to serve and show love to our country.

I enjoy every moment of being a humanista.I learned a lot of things in this strand like being athinker, producer, creator and being creative I will treasure and nurture the lesson I’ve gain in this strand. I learned how to communicate in a better way ,to write something that will encourage and inspire others . Also, motivate yourself whom the people supported and push you.
